DVAS Workshops for 2024

DVAS is pleased to present four upcoming workshops:

March 23 – Greg Dickie will present a workshop using acrylic paints. This workshop will focus on seascapes and shorelines. All mediums are welcome.

April 27 – Bill Rogers will present a workshop ‘Putting Figures in Paintings’. Bill will be working with in acrylics but all mediums are welcome.

May 25 – Terry Greencorn will present a workshop using mixed media. She will demonstrate in watercolour but all mediums are welcome.

These workshops will be held at the Findlay Centre on Elliot Street in Dartmouth from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please bring your painting supplies, a lunch, and a table cover.

The cost of each workshop is $50 for DVAS members and $70 for non-members. Fees may be paid by cheque, sent to DVAS, 65 Driftwood Cres, Dartmouth, N.S., B2V 1S6 or in person at Studio Group on Thursday mornings 9:30- 11:30, or by e-transfer to treasurer@dartmouthvisualarts.ca.

Register for workshops by emailing workshopregis@dartmouthvisualarts.ca. Workshop spaces are limited so register early. Confirm your registration before paying, to ensure there is space available. Payment information is below.

GENERAL WORKSHOP INFORMATION:

DVAS workshops are open to all, with preference given to DVAS members. All levels of experience are welcome. Spaces at DVAS workshops fill up quickly, so register early and don't miss out!

Workshops are held at Findlay Community Centre, 26 Elliot St., Dartmouth, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Bring your own supplies for each workshop, a table cover, and a lunch. Please also read DVAS workshop policy at the bottom of this page.

Workshop Fees: $50 for members, $70 for non-members, per workshop

Payment for each workshop can by made in two ways:

1. - By cheque, made out to Dartmouth Visual Arts Society, and mailed to:

Dartmouth Visual Arts Society Workshops, 65 Driftwood Crescent, Dartmouth, NS B2V 1S6

2. - By e-transfer through your bank. Direct your online payment to this email address: treasurer@DartmouthVisualArts.ca In the message box, be sure to include all of the following: your full name, mailing address, phone number, and preferred email address. Please also indicate if you are including payment for membership or studio group in addition to your studio group fees.

Workshop Policy: Workshops must be paid in advance, by cheque by the 15th of the month and postdated for the day of the workshop. Minimum number of registrations is ten (10) artists. If fewer than ten people register for a workshop, that workshop will be cancelled.

We request that you arrive by 8:45 a.m. at the latest to set up. We will begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Payment is due when registering for a workshop. Cheques are to be made payable to Dartmouth Visual Arts Society or DVAS - one separate cheque for each workshop. Please date the cheque the day of the workshop requested (as cheques become stale and non-negotiable after six months). Indicate on the cheque the name of the workshop or the artist.

Cheques will not normally be returned. Note that in the event the workshop attendance list becomes full, priority will be given to paid-up members. Also in excess of full attendance, a waiting list will be used. Two weeks notice is required for cancellation.
